Edition October 2010
Autumn is upon us.
The air is getting crisp and cool. Days
are shorter, the evening sky is a darker
blue. The colors and food of fall
return...did you say "pumpkin pie"? And
new stuff is always happening at Cedar
Mesa. This time it's Internet flute
lessons, concerts, workshops and more.
It's all below.
In Harmony,
Scott August
Lessons via Skype
or iChat
A lot of you have inquired about taking
lessons from me even though they don't
live in the Los Angeles area. Therefore I
have decided to give NAF lessons via
Skype. Currently I only plan to take on a
very limited amount of students.
Lessons will be
available as a set of four half-hour
weekly lessons. Each lesson costing $30.
If you have a Skype (or iChat) account
(with a high speed connection), a web cam,
a metronome and are interested please let
me know.
I plan to start
giving lessons in November. This will be
done in a "first come-first serve" style.
(Please note: I am not offering Anasazi
video lessons...yet. Given the difficulty
playing rim-blown flutes I want to start
with just NAFs for now. If I decide to
offer Anasazi lessons I will put that in a
future newsletter.)
You can contact me at info@cedarmesa.com
Upcoming
Concerts
If you live in the greater Los Angeles,
Orange County or Riverside County area,
please come see my free concert this
Sunday, October 17th, at the Nixon
Library. This is a very comfortable
location and is always a lot of fun. I
will have my video behind me and a some
other fun surprises. This is my last
scheduled concert this year in Souther
California. The
concert starts at 2:00 PM.
