NORTH CAROLINA SHOW ADDED TO SCOTT'S EAST COAST TOUR!

Scott August is heading to the east coast laster this month. He will be performing in Raleigh, North Carolina at Meredith College Saturday, March 21, and in Rockville, Maryland at the Potomac Flute on Friday, March 27, 2009

This is a rare chance to see Scott perform your favorite songs on Native American flute and Anasazi flute. Accompanying Scott will be his visual presentation of images of the southwest.

Raleigh, NC workshop: Intermediate level NAF flute players. This workshop focus will be on playing the flute, improvisation, and creating songs for the Native American Flute. This workshop will take place on March 21 from 2-4 pm. For more info and tickets Neuse River Flute Circle

Lost Canyons

Cedar Mesa Music is proud to anounce that Lost Canyons and New Fire have both been nominated for a 2009 NAR LifeStyle Music Award. NAR or New Age Reporter is the premier online new age music chart. The charts and nominations are made by radio DJ across the country and around the world.

If that weren't enough the NAR's chart for the Top 100 Recordings of 2008 is out and Lost Canyons came in at #6, while New Fire tied for #38!

 

ANASAZI FLUTE MASTER CLASS


Scott August will be giving a four day Anasazi Flute Master Class at the Zion Native Flute School to be held May 17 - 22, 2009

Class Description:

This "Hands-on" workshop will cover:
How to hold the flute.
“The Embouchure” - Lip positioning and placement for optimum sound production.
Getting your first notes and sustaining them.
Breath control and perfecting your tone.
Exploring the different types of scales possible on the Anasazi Flute.
How to practice effectively

An Anasazi Flute is required for this class.

If time permits we will also take a quick look at two other closely related flutes, the Hopi and the Mohave style flutes.
